Are you experienced in customer service and passionate about sustainable brands and local artists? Join a dynamic retail team at Caravan, where you'll deliver exceptional service, engage with the community, and help create a memorable shopping experience while supporting sustainability efforts through selling thoughtful brands and products and local artists.
Among other duties, you will focus on sales and customer service and stocking and staging products on the retail floor. You will engage in day-to-day activities that keep customers satisfied and the shop looking sharp. You will learn about our products and share your passion for the local community with guests. All employees are encouraged and empowered to solve problems creatively and put the customers’ needs at the center of everything we do.
We are looking to fill a senior year-round position to work with someone who is engaged with retail and is comfortable in a high-paced and self-motivated environment. We can be flexible in our hours but ideally looking to fill 3-4 days a week. Currently our off-season hours are 10:30-5 and summer currently being 9:45-6:45. There is potential for 1-2 positions to be filled. Asap position for Nov....hours include Sat/Sun. We have room for 1 self sufficient person in staff accom.
Example Tasks:
- Greeting customers as they enter the store.
- Answering customer questions about product features and availability.
- Operating a cash register or point-of-sale system.
- Assisting customers in selecting products.
- Restocking and organizing merchandise on the sales floor.
- Handling returns and refunds.
- Maintaining a clean and organized sales floor.
- Keeping overstock areas organized and inventory correct
- Participating in inventory counts.

Visual merchandising.
- Keeping a keen eye on general store organization
- Overseeing the store as a host managing the guests/ watching for theft
- Preparing Products for shipping
- Recieving and inputting stock into shopify
- Making task lists for other staff members on the team
- Organizing and pricing stock for sale
- Notifying managment about low stock through written communication
Required Skills:
- Strong customer service skills - Ability to relate & build rapport with shoppers
- Effective communication skills - Both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of store policies and procedures.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Physical stamina for stocking shelves and standing for extended periods
- Basic Computer skills - We use Shopify + Sheets
- Exceptional attention to detail in merchandising and organizing stock.
- 2+ Years retail experience in a store or relevant experience
- Ability to set and complete self directed small goals and tasks
